The Nelson Foundation keeping with it's founding principles to "Contribute Towards a Better World", is pleased to provide Gold and Charter Donations on an annual basis to Special Olympics in three US States and to National and International Special Olympics Committees. Donations to the Special Olympics provide philanthropic support to three of the Nelson Foundation's specific areas of support: Education, Social Development and Child Welfare. The Nelson Foundation is pleased to provide special support to the "Peace Games" which are a model for World Unity. Special Olympics is composed of passionate, committed individuals from every walk of life, who recognize the value and unique gifts of people with intellectual disabilities. And, who together, share the common belief of dignity, equality and opportunity for ALL people. Special Olympics is a global nonprofit organization serving the nearly 200 million people with intellectual disabilities, with a presence in nearly 200 countries worldwide.
